Have you ever seen The Bicyclist? Its a webtv series based in Portland about 20 somethings who bike around the city and work at places such as The Recyclery and Tour De Crepes (bike themed crepery in PDX). You should check it out if you get a chance! They're also filming a feature film right now in Portland that is a spinoff from the web series, but much more grounded.

Beautiful! Very inspiring. Makes me want to organize something like this here in Oregon. Hmm...

Not sure if you're interested, Richard, but feel free to check out my new cargo bike at CETMAcargo.com.

I'd love to hear what you think.

Also, I'll add a link to this blog from my links page soon.

Hey Lane!

I've seen your CETMA over at Clever Cycles. Looks like a great design and I'll take it for a spin next time I visit those guys.

If you're up in Portland over the weekend some time please come have a cup of coffee on me at Cafe Velo over at the Portland Farmers Market. We run a cafe based on a big Nijlands bakfiets and usually have other cargo geeks like Joel hanging around talking cargo bikes, etc. Best of luck with CETMA!

Amsterdam minivans rule!

Great Blog! I lived in Holland a few years back and caught the commuter cycling bug big time. We recently got a cargo bike made here in Salt Lake City by a guy named Jared Madsen(check it out at madsencycles.com). It has a slightly different vibe from the Bakfiets (has a bucket on the back that carries up to 600 lbs.) But we love it. Mostly for groceries and spoiling our dog with rides around the neighborhood. That, and trips to cello lessons.

Go cargo cycles!

You had a lovely blog. Can't find an email link, so thought I'd stick this on your last post.

We've been car-free since May 2009 and had our bakfiets since this past April (2011), so about 6 months now. Bought it used off of Craigslist. I've been told it's one of the first generation that Clever Cycles imported. I don't know how I lived without it! I'm one happy mama now. I'd love to know if you're still tooling around or if you have another blog somewhere. Please email me if you get a chance at kath-at-youell-dot-com or you can find me on Flickr gazing at "bakfiets porn" as KYouell.

Happy pedaling!
